What Can Invisalign® Treat?
Like traditional braces, Invisalign® is a teeth-straightening technology. Beyond just straightening your teeth, the Invisalign® system also promotes general oral health and can treat these conditions:
- Overbite — your upper front teeth close too far beyond your lower front teeth
- Underbite — your upper front teeth close too far in front of your lower front teeth
- Crossbite — your upper and lower jaws are misaligned
- Gaps — you have larger spaces between your teeth
- Open bite — your upper and lower teeth don’t meet
- Crowded teeth — your jaw doesn’t have enough room for proper teeth alignment
- Crooked teeth — your smile isn’t as straight as you’d like
It takes a lot of energy to hide a smile you don’t like.
Proceeding with cosmetic dentistry treatment like Invisalign® can correct potentially harmful teeth misalignment and renew your confidence in your smile.

How does Invisalign® Work?
Unlike traditional braces, which involve glued brackets, wiring, and rubber bands, Invisalign® uses aligners to straighten your teeth.
These aligners are much more like a retainer, as they are custom-made and easily removable.
When you decide to start the Invisalign® treatment, here’s what you can expect:
1. Your Dentist Takes a 3D Image of Your Teeth
At your first dentist appointment, your dentist will take a 3D image of your teeth and jaw. This process is extremely quick and totally painless.
The 3D image allows us to get an accurate sense of your teeth and create a treatment plan based on your goals and these images.
2. Your Dentist Makes Custom Aligners
Your dentist then uses your 3D image to make a 100-percent custom-fitted aligner for your mouth. These aligners are made from a SmartTrack® material that is FDA-approved, BPA-free, and completely transparent.
Once your aligners are made, you will try them on to ensure a perfect fit. Here, your dentist will trim the aligners so that they do not cut into your gum line or fit uncomfortably.
3. You Wear Aligner Sets for 1-2 Weeks
For a week or two, depending on your treatment plan, you’ll wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day. Luckily, you can easily remove your aligners when you need to eat or for special occasions.
After the prescribed period of time, you’ll switch to your next set of aligners. By this point, you’ll already notice that your teeth are becoming straighter!
Instead of going to the dentist’s office each time you need new aligners, you’ll schedule check-ups every six-to-eight weeks. This way, you can get a few sets of new aligners and not worry about going to the dentist every single week.
4. You Enjoy a Straight Smile
Depending on your cosmetic dentistry goals and your treatment plan, you’ll wear your aligners for 12-18 months. Luckily, they’re totally invisible and easy to take out. So, unlike those who wear traditional braces, you won’t face the same stigmas that come from other teeth straightening technologies.
With Invisalign®, you can achieve the smile you’ve always wanted!

Your Estrella Dental Experience
Here is a sneak preview of what to expect from your visit.
During your visit, we treat you like family, show you we sincerely care, and give you only the facts.
From the moment you contact our office, you will detect that everyone knows his or her role. We all greet you kindly, with our front-desk team answering any questions you have. You are then introduced to the team and the process for your appointment is explained.
Your dental hygienist, Lucy, will sit down with you to discuss any immediate concerns and if there is a particular issue we need to address. She will then assist with you x-rays and start the exam process.
Your dentist, either Dr. Miguel Estrella or Dr. Jaime Estrella, will complete the exam phase and discuss our findings. On the screen in front of you, you will see images of your mouth and x-rays. Everything is then explained to you and your proposed treatment plan discussed. This includes financial plans, making sure you thoroughly understand the diagnosis, solution options, and timeframe.
